Truck engine rattling may be caused by the following reasons, and can take appropriate measures to solve the problem:
1. Wear of mechanical parts
Piston and cylinder wall wear: after long-term use, the gap between the piston and the cylinder wall increases, resulting in the piston in the movement process to produce abnormal impact sound.
2.Wear of crankshaft bearings: When the bearings are worn, the clearance becomes larger, and the crankshaft will produce an obvious ‘buzzing’ sound during operation.
Worn camshafts: Increased clearance between the camshaft and the valve tappet produces a ‘clattering’ sound.
3.Fuel quality problems，Poor quality fuel: Inadequate combustion of poor quality fuel may lead to knocking and a crisp ‘clunk’ sound.
4.Fuel grade discrepancy: If you use a fuel grade lower than that required by the engine, it is easy to cause vibration.

9.Water pump failure: water pump bearing damage or loose impeller, will produce ‘humming’ sound.
10.Air-conditioning compressor failure: compressor internal parts are damaged, will produce abnormal noise.
The solution:
1. Mechanical component wear
For piston and cylinder wall wear, consider an engine overhaul to replace parts such as pistons, piston rings and cylinder liners.
Crankshaft bearings need to be replaced if they are badly worn.
Camshaft wear can be repaired or replaced.
2.Fuel Quality Problems
Immediately stop using poor quality fuel and replace it with standard quality fuel.
Fill the fuel according to the fuel grade required by the engine.
3.The intake and exhaust system failure
Regularly check and replace the air filter to ensure smooth air intake.
Check whether the exhaust pipe is clogged, if clogged should be cleaned up in time.
Adjust the valve clearance to the specified value.
4.Engine accessories failure
Check the generator, if any failure timely repair or replacement of bearings, adjust the belt tension.
Water pump failure needs to be repaired or replaced.
Air conditioning compressor failure should be sent to a professional repair shop for repair or replacement.
