Recently, two customized four-axle sidewall trailers were successfully shipped from Fudeng’s production base to Zimbabwe, officially delivered to the local customer to meet their growing bulk cargo and multi-purpose transportation business. These sidewall trailers not only fully consider the complex road conditions and diverse cargo types in Africa in their structural design, but also demonstrate strong flexibility and practicality in their functional configuration, winning high praise from the customer.
Sidewall trailers, also known as dropside trailers, are mainly used for transporting bulk cargo such as coal, ore, sand, and timber. Compared to flatbed trailers, their biggest advantage is the removable sidewalls, which effectively prevent cargo from slipping or scattering during transportation.
Combined with the anti-slip floor design, this ensures stability and safety during bulk cargo transportation. Furthermore, the sidewall trailers customized by Fudeng for the Zimbabwean customer have a specially designed sidewall height of 1.2 meters, meeting both high-capacity loading requirements and facilitating manual or mechanical loading and unloading operations.
It’s worth noting that this model utilizes a four-axle FD heavy-duty axle system, optimized for quality, boasting a load capacity of up to 80 tons, easily meeting the heavy-duty bulk cargo transportation needs of Zimbabwe. The chassis structure has been reinforced to ensure excellent stability and durability even under harsh road conditions.
The vehicle is equipped with 12 standard container latches, and all sideboards can be quickly removed. Once the sideboards are removed, the vehicle can be quickly switched to container transport mode, flexibly adapting to one 40-foot or two 20-foot international standard containers. This design allows the vehicle to quickly switch between bulk cargo, container, and oversized cargo transport modes, reducing equipment procurement costs for Zimbabwean customers by more than 30%.
Currently, these two trailers are deployed on the Zimbabwe-Zambia cross-border transport route. Their dual-mode “bulk cargo + container” transport capability is helping customers expand into the international logistics market for high-value-added goods such as minerals and agricultural products.
